Shriya Pilgaonkar is an Indian film actress, director, producer, and stage performer. She is the daughter of the acclaimed actors Sachin and Supriya Pilgaonkar.

Shriya Pilgaonkar, the daughter of renowned Marathi actors Sachin and Supriya Pilgaonkar, is a talented director and actress. She has directed short films such as Dresswala and Painted Signal, earning acclaim at various international film festivals. Shriya made her acting debut in the Marathi film Ekulti Ek (2013) and was awarded the World Nomad’s Travel Film Scholarship, affording her the chance to create travel-focused films in Brazil. Her entry into Bollywood came with the well-received Shah Rukh Khan-starrer, Fan (2016). Notable among her other film credits are War (2019), Bhangra Paa Le (2020), and Haathi Mere Saathi (2021).

Prior to her debut in Hindi films, Shriya was involved in a French film titled ‘Un plus une,’ where she shared the screen with Oscar-winning actor Jean Dujardin. She also featured in a Marathi film called ‘Ekulti Ek,’ directed by her father, Sachin.

As a child, Pilgaonkar underwent training to become a professional swimmer and achieved significant success, securing several medals during her school years. Thinking she might pursue a career as a translator or linguist in the future, Pilgaonkar took Japanese classes during her childhood.

Choosing a different path, Pilgaonkar earned her bachelor’s degree in Sociology from St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai. Additionally, she learned Kathak during her childhood.

Beyond her acting career, Pilgaonkar is also involved in directing and producing short films. In 2012, she attended Harvard University for summer school, an experience that inspired her to work on her own short film projects.
