Adah Sharma

Adah father is a captain in the merchant navy and her mother is a Yoga instructor. She has completed her graduation in Kathak from Gopi Krishna’s Dance Academy.

During her tenth grade, Adah Sharma developed a strong desire to become an actress and contemplated quitting her studies. However, her parents insisted that she complete her schooling. Consequently, after completing her twelfth grade, she chose to discontinue her formal education to pursue her acting career.

Adah Sharma has dedicated herself to learning diverse forms of dance, encompassing kathak, salsa, jazz, ballet, and even belly dancing. She pursued her passion for dance by completing her graduation in Kathak from the Natraj Gopi Krishna Kathak Dance Academy in Mumbai.

In 2008, Adah Sharma landed her breakthrough lead role in the film “1920,” directed by Vikram Bhatt, where she starred alongside Rajneesh Duggal. Her performance garnered critical acclaim, and the film achieved commercial success. Following this achievement, she appeared in two more Bollywood films; however, they did not fare well at the box office.

In 2014, Adah Sharma made her Telugu film debut with “Heart Attack,” and during the same year, she also appeared in the Bollywood film “Hasee Toh Phasee” in a supporting role. Both films achieved success at the box office, and Adah’s acting received praise for her natural portrayal.

Building on this momentum, she went on to star in Telugu films like “S/O Satyamurthy” and “Rana Vikrama,” which became major hits and ranked among the highest-grossing Telugu films of all time. In her web series ventures, Adah gained significant recognition for her portrayal of a transgender woman in “Pati Patni Aur Panga.”

Adah has garnered attention for her role in “The Kerala Story (2023),” where she portrays a Malayali nurse who, after converting to Islam, is coerced into joining the terrorist organization ISIS. The film’s controversial subject matter and the performances of the cast have received positive responses from both viewers and critics, placing Adah in the spotlight once again.
